Dr Kate Devlin is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Digital Humanities at King’s College London, where she investigates how people interact with and react to technologies, both past and future. She works in the fields of Human Computer Interaction (HCI) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), focusing on cognition, sex, gender and sexuality, and how these might be incorporated into cognitive systems. She was Co-Chair of the widely reported Love and Sex with Robots conference in 2016 and ran the UK’s first sextech hackathon. Kate is a campaigner for gender equality and is involved in national initiatives to improve opportunities for women in tech.
Before that, he was Technical Director of ADASENS Automotive GmbH, a FICOSA brand, focused on ADAS development and in charge of delivering and creating the company’s products and targets.
Florian received his PhD in 2015 with the focus of Machine Learning applied to Scene Understanding and published about 20 publications.
Professor Mark Whitehorn specialises in Analytics and Machine Learning. On the commercial side he works as a consultant for national and international organisations (such as the Bank of England, Standard Life and Sainsbury’s) designing analytical systems and Data Science solutions.
Mark is a regular contributor to The Register, has written eleven books and published around 1,200 articles and white papers. He is the Emeritus Professor of Analytics at the University of Dundee where he teaches a Masters course in Data Science and conducts research into the development of analytical systems and proteomics.
Grace is heavily involved in the data science community as an organiser of the R-Ladies London chapter and regularly presents on data science topics globally.
Previously Cheryl has worked in BI development and Analytics in several sectors including newstrade, gaming and travel.
Julia Schmidt works on events for Situation Publishing. Before that she wrote about all things software development, and was an engineer and software developer in the fields of machine learning, computer vision, and data compression.
